Qualifications: Peaceful DispositionA man being considered as a prospective pastor is not to be “quarrelsome”—not contentious. Rather than being given to blows (“violent”) he is to have an aversion to fighting. A man of peace. A peace-loving man. It is true to say that a contentious leader is a very sad feature in any church. Take care not to call a man who is contentious.
